The client
A ride-hailing company running across cities.
Payanam is a ride-hailing company based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Its platform covers the full taxi and auto aggregator lifecycle: rider booking, driver dispatch, live tracking, fare computation, payments, franchising for city operators and back-office administration.
The solution
A five-part platform.
We built the platform end to end: a passenger app and a driver app, an admin panel for the operations team and franchise partners, a website with a live booking form, and a backend of ten services, each with its own database.
What's included.
Booking & dispatch
Immediate and scheduled rides, with nearby drivers alerted by vehicle type. A wider re-dispatch and auto-cancel handle timeouts, and scheduled rides dispatch automatically before pickup.
Live tracking & safety
Live driver location, ride OTPs at start and end, and SOS alerts from both apps into a real-time admin console.
Fare engine
One fare engine for estimates and ride completion: night pricing, surge by city and zone, minimum fares, waiting charges, tax and promo codes. Rental packages are supported.
Driver onboarding & wallet
Driver and vehicle document verification with expiry tracking, a driver wallet, and subscription plans that gate going online.
Franchise management
City operators run their own cities, service-area polygons, billing models and settlements, each scoped to their own data.
Built for operations
English and Tamil in both mobile apps, and health monitoring across all ten backend services.
