Younder Advisory
The right technology decision, before you build it.
Most expensive technology mistakes are not made in the code. They are made in the week before the project starts, when nobody had the conversation about what problem the technology is actually solving.
The Problem
A build decision that needs to survive five years, made in a meeting
A technical co-founder gap on a founding team that cannot afford one yet
A codebase that has become a liability and needs an honest assessment
A vendor claiming their platform does everything and no one to verify it
What We Deliver
Technology Consulting capabilities.
Architecture assessment
An independent read of what you have built, what it will cost to maintain, and what it will not survive.
Product strategy
Narrowing the vision to the assumptions that sink the business if wrong, then scoping only enough to test them.
Technology selection
Stack decisions made against your requirements and your team's ability to maintain the result, not against what is trending.
Build vs. buy analysis
An honest comparison of building, buying and integrating, against the actual cost of each over three years.
CTO advisory
Senior engineering judgement on the decisions that matter, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
Technical due diligence
An independent review of a codebase, team or architecture before a funding decision, acquisition or partnership.
Vendor evaluation
Assessment of a vendor's technical claims, integration complexity and lock-in risk before any commitment.
Roadmap planning
A sequenced delivery plan that balances business value, technical risk and team capacity honestly.
Common questions
What people ask before starting.
What does a fractional CTO actually do?
+
A fractional CTO holds the technical decision-making function a founding team does not yet have. That means defining the architecture, choosing the stack, briefing and reviewing engineers, managing technical risk and representing the technical position to investors and board. The engagement scales with what is actually needed rather than the full-time cost of a hire.
How is this different from a regular technology consultant?
+
A consultant delivers a report. We take the decision with you and remain accountable for the outcome. If the architecture review identifies a critical risk, the next step is usually an engagement to address it — the advice and the implementation are not separated.
Can you help us before we have started building?
+
That is the best time to engage. The decisions that are hardest to reverse — data model, API boundaries, identity architecture, hosting model — are all made in the first few weeks. Getting them right costs a fraction of fixing them later.
Do you continue past the advisory engagement?
+
Often yes. Advisory frequently leads to a build engagement once the architecture and scope are defined. The consulting and engineering functions are the same team, so the handover is a conversation rather than a handoff document.
